About Export Credit Guarantee Corporation of Zimbabwe
The Export Credit Guarantee Corporation Of Zimbabwe (ECGC) is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe and is a duly registered short-term insurer.
The company’s mission is to develop sustainable export and local trade by providing innovative insurance solutions. Incorporated in 1999 and commenced operations in 2000.
ECGC offers products that include export payment insurance policies, domestic payment insurance policies, MSME and financial guarantees as well as short-term insurance.
The company’s mandate is to provide specialised skills to Zimbabwean exporters so that they may be able to assess and analyse cross-border risks in efforts to sustain and expand export markets.
ECGC is regulated and supervised by the Commissioner of Insurance in terms of the Insurance Act and has complied with the minimum capital requirements as set by the Insurance and Pensions Commission (IPEC).
